Race for the Baltic in partnership with Lithuanian Fund for Nature are convening their second business roundtable of 2013 in Vilnius today.
The business roundtable will gather a group of companies to speak about efforts they have undertaken or would like the opportunity to take in their supply chain to reduce their impact on the Baltic Sea. There will also be a discussion on eco labelling and resource stewardship and how can these activities reduce negative impacts on the Baltic Sea environment.
RFTB along with companies will brainstorm opportunities on where companies can reduce their impact on the Baltic Sea. The roundtable will consist of a number of speakers who are actively working in the retail and labelling sectors and are creating connections between the not for profit and profitable worlds, the local and the global and meeting supply and demand.
The moderator of the event is Edmundas Greimas, Director of the Lithuanian Fund for Nature.
Edgaras Mankus from Vikis will present to the group of companies about their co-operation with leading Baltic retailer Rimi on how they mainstream environment issues in their food retail sections in hypermarkets.
Vida Gintautaite from the Nordic Council of Ministers will give a presentation about Ecolabelling, focussing on the Nordic Label and how it can open the Baltic market for Lithuanian companies.
Robertas Staponkus from Lithuanian Fund for Nature will give a presentation about environmental and resource stewardship and how it is now an integral part of everyday business.
The roundtable participants come from a range of companies including telecommunications, construction industry, waste water management, banking sector, medical industry and packaging.
