Strengthened partnership and data collection

In Q2 RFTB held a productive meeting with Grupa Azoty Police, discussing environmental commitments and projects to reduce phosphorus emissions. We are now considering partnering with another fertilizer plants to limit phosphorus discharge into the Baltic Sea. Additionally, RFTB began data collection from cleaning sweepers during the first quarter of 2024. This data, covering phosphate rock and fertilizers collected from quays, storage areas, and ship holds, highlights the effectiveness of the cleaning machines in preventing significant pollution of the Baltic Sea.

Important meetings and progress on data collection
In the second quarter of 2024, RFTB engaged in a productive meeting with Grupa Azoty Police and began collecting data from our investments in cleaning sweepers across three terminals in Szczecin.

Meeting with Grupa Azoty Police
In May 2024, RFTB met with Grupa Azoty Police. During this fruitful discussion, we presented our commitment to environmental issues and discussed ongoing projects aimed at reducing phosphorus emissions. Additionally, RFTB has been in discussions with various stakeholders focused on technologies and solutions to limit phosphorus emissions from fertilizer plants.

We are now considering partnering with another fertilizer plant to support their efforts in reducing phosphorus discharge into the Baltic Sea.

Cleaning Machines Working to Save the Baltic Sea
RFTB has started collecting data from stakeholders on the amounts of phosphate rock and fertilizers collected during the first quarter of 2024. This data includes materials gathered from quays, storage areas, and ship holds since the cleaning machines became operational. The cleaning sweepers have proven highly efficient, preventing significant amounts of fertilizer and phosphate rock from entering the Baltic Sea.
